Noise Singapore is the largest youth arts platform in Singapore, and aims to get young people aged 35 and below engaged in the arts and embrace their creative side. It is organised by the National Arts Council. Throughout the year, Noise Singapore offers various opportunities for young people to develop and showcase their creations. Working with industry intermediaries and corporate partners, Noise Singapore presents customised platforms and programmes that not only highlight original works and the creative minds behind them but also the journeys that these young people have embarked on.
Selected intermediaries will be commissioned each year to be part of Noise Singapore's line-up of anchor programmes which young people can participate in. These can include development and/or showcase opportunities that seek to engage and excite youth in arts creation. Find out more here.
Pop-Up Noise aims to offer the public greater access to young artists and their creations. This is usually done through roving set-ups that appear for two to four weeks at various spaces around Singapore. Past editions of Pop-Up Noise have traveled to places like Kovan Bus Interchange, One Raffles Place, Westgate Mall and Clarke Quay Central.
Noise Singapore is always keen to collaborate with partners to grow a vibrant youth arts scene that provides diverse options for young people. Each partnership is unique and designed in discussion with the partner(s) involved. Find out more about our past collaborations here. Many young people have big, artistic dreams and Noise Singapore wants to help them achieve their aspirations. Our mentorship programmes offer aspiring artists and musicians the opportunity to be mentored by seasoned creative leaders for six months, leading to the creation of new works and a final group showcase.
For greater arts exposure, Noise Singapore also works with local arts collectives to organise Noise Mayhem and Symposium, which includes various workshops, talks and networking opportunities that are open to the public and held regularly throughout the year. Follow Noise on Facebook for updates!
As part of Noise Singapore's efforts to catalyse arts creation, participation and appreciation among young people, Noise Movement provides seed funding for initiatives that get young people involved in the arts. Such programmes should cater to the varied interests of young people and contribute to the growth of a vibrant arts scene in Singapore. Read about past projects and funding guidelines here.
The Noise Matchbox grant provides young people aged 35 and below customised guidance and partial funding to support independent creative ventures. These projects can be in any art form. Read about past projects and funding guidelines here.
