Information on each of the open categories can be found here. The information provided forms part of the Terms. By submitting a work for Noise Singapore showcase, you indicate your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Submission is open to citizens and residents of Singapore, aged 35 years and below. If you are below the age of 18, please ensure that your parent or legal guardian has consented to your participation and acceptance of these Terms. By submitting a work under the Open Categories, you confirm and represent that such consent of your parent or legal guardian has been obtained.

Submissions must be original creations of the participant. In the event that the submission contains or incorporates the work of other individuals or organisations, including any copyrighted materials, the participant shall secure any necessary permission and/or licences from such third parties. The participant must indicate in the write-up to the submission if the submission contains the work of third parties, and confirm that all necessary permission and/or licences have been obtained.

The Participant may submit its own works that have previously been published, or have won awards or prizes in competitions. In such cases, the participant shall secure any necessary permission and/or licence from the relevant authorities and/or organisations to submit the said work(s) to the National Arts Council (NAC) and/or Noise Singapore. The artist must indicate in the write-up to the submission if the work has been published or has won awards or prizes in competitions, and provide details of such awards or prizes.

NAC and its affiliates and partners shall not in any way be liable for the infringement of any intellectual property (including but not limited to copyright) or other rights of third parties or for breach of any applicable laws caused by the participant's creation or submission of the work. The participant shall indemnify NAC and keep NAC fully indemnified against any and all actions, claims, liability, damages, costs and expenses in arising out of or in connection with the participant's submission and participation in this competition, including but not limited to any infringement of the rights of third parties or breach of any applicable laws caused by the creation or submission of the work.

The work submitted must not contain any credit mention or acknowledgement or references to any particular person or organisation or website, unless approved in writing by NAC. Any credit mention and acknowledgement may be included in the captions or write-up to the work.

NAC has the right to disqualify and/or at any time remove from the NAC and/or Noise Singapore website, works that are in breach of these Terms, or works that are deemed, in NAC's sole and absolute opinion, to contain obscene, racist, unethical, dangerous, violent or legally objectionable material or material that may infringe upon any person's personal or property rights.

Only Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents will be eligible for the Noise Singapore Prize. The results will be announced by March 2012 and the winners will be notified by email or phone. The winners' names will also be published on the Noise Singapore website. The Noise Singapore Prize grant will be disbursed after the winner submits a proposal for the grant. The proposal should help the artist develop skills and/or exposure, and can include recording an album, participation in international competitions, travelling to overseas festivals, publishing a book etc. The sum awarded is up to S$5,000, depending on the proposal. Each Noise participant is only entitled to win once.

Submission commences on 17 February 2011. NAC accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries.

Selected works may be showcased during the Noise Singapore Festival Showcase. For the purpose of showcasing the selected creative works, NAC may require a high quality copy of the selected work from the participants. NAC will not be responsible for any fees or charges incurred in producing a high quality copy of the selected work. Such fees or charges shall be borne by the participant.

NAC will not be responsible for any loss or expense or damage to any person or belongings caused as a result of or in connection with any participation in Noise Singapore.

Intellectual property of the works submitted belongs to the artist (being the person who created such works). The artist grants to NAC and its affiliates and partners a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence in perpetuity to utilise each work submitted, whether in whole or in part, including for any promotional/archival purposes. Where appropriate, artists will be duly acknowledged.

Submission details remain the property of NAC.

All employees of NAC and its agencies are not eligible to participate in these categories.

NAC reserves the right to change, amend or withdraw these Terms or any part thereof without prior notice. Your continued participation in this category following any amendment to these Terms will signify your acceptance to such revised Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms or any amendments thereto, please do not participate or continue to participate in this category.

In the event of any disputes, the decision of NAC shall be final and binding. The failure of NAC to enforce at any time any of these Terms shall in no way be interpreted as a waiver of such Term or waiver of any subsequent or other breach, nor shall any delay on the part of NAC in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms prevent or hinder the exercise of that right or remedy.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore for every purpose
